“Blue Groove Restaurant in Croyde, North Devon, oozes unique personality and refuses to be put in a box. Take that classic beachy style and add a dose of sophistication …”

Mural Painting

In 2001 Rob Colwill and Matthew Pine set up the Blue Groove restaurant in Croyde Bay, North Devon. Conor was keen to get involved with the funky restaurant/bar that they had in mind.

They commissioned Conor to design their logo, make their signage, and decorate the interior of the restaurant with his paintings. A year later they decided to do some interior wall muraling. The mural painting of the Blue lady holding the world in the palm of her hand became a popular Croyde landmark. You can get an idea of scale by noticing the doorway to the right. She’s a big girl.

In 2004, Rob and Piney moved premises to the middle of Croyde village, the “Blue lady” mural was painted over by new owners. In this new restaurant there was considerably more wall mural space to play with and a much larger mural was painted, it was huge, over 30ft long and 10ft tall, a psychedelic Jungle dreamscape, see this post for images, click here.

Then in 2019 Blue Groove under went its most sophisticated interior redesign. Conor was commissioned to paint two giant murals, based again on a jungle theme, see this post for images of the new Blue Groove, click here.

Blue Groove is a great place to go and have a relaxing Coffee, breakfast, lunch or an evening meal, and gets great reviews on trip advisor.
