Blue Lady features the large female figure originally painted for Blue Groove restaurant in Croyde, North Devon. Emerging from an atmospheric field of blue and white clouds with a globe held in her outstretched hand, the figure formed the focal point of an extensive mural that continued around the restaurant interior.

The mural marked the beginning of a long-running creative relationship with Blue Groove, and the Blue Lady became a familiar part of the restaurant during this period. The original was eventually painted over after the premises changed hands, making the surviving imagery a record of an important early Croyde mural commission.

Print & Finish

Paper prints are produced on heavyweight paper with a white border. The larger canvas option is stretched over a quality pine stretcher frame and finished with a protective lacquer.

Originally painted by airbrush using acrylic paint on prepared interior walls, Blue Lady was the first in a series of mural commissions for Blue Groove in Croyde, followed by further projects in 2006, 2019 and 2020.
