A charged moment where light and storm collide, holding the landscape in a state of suspended intensity.
Available Original
Storm Front Hartland is an original acrylic painting inspired by the dramatic coastline of Hartland Point, North Devon. Vivid oranges and deep reds illuminate the horizon as the final warmth of the setting sun meets an advancing storm, creating a landscape suspended between light and shadow.
Below, the rugged shoreline and Atlantic water provide a physical counterpoint to the changing sky. Richly textured paint emphasises the exposed rock, reef and breaking water, while the meeting of fading light and approaching weather captures the raw, unpredictable character of this distinctive stretch of the North Devon coast.
Artwork & Finish
Painted in acrylic on panel, the work combines layered glazes and blended passages with heavier applications of paint. Smoother areas build the changing atmosphere of the sky, while pronounced impasto gives the rocky foreground and shoreline a tactile, raised surface. A protective varnish enriches the depth of the colour while protecting the finished painting.
