Lets Fill Our Lungs With Salty Air captures Croyde Bay during a spring low tide, when the retreating sea reveals a vast expanse of wet sand beneath a bright summer sky. Shallow pools and damp sand reflect the light above, creating subtle tonal shifts that lead the eye towards the distant shoreline.

Clean lines of surf mark the edge of the sea, while the darker form of Downend headland anchors the panoramic composition. Working entirely in monochrome, the image uses the contrast between charcoal tones and luminous areas of paper to convey the openness and reflected light of the exposed beach.
