Full Moon Rising presents an Exmoor stag emerging against a deep indigo ground, with the head and antlers held in stronger definition while expressive watercolour washes create the surrounding atmosphere.

Light catches the stag against the darker ground, bringing naturalistic observation together with softer, more fluid passages of colour. Inspired by observations of deer across Exmoor National Park, the image captures the solitary presence of a stag within the darkness of the moorland landscape.
