Large wall mural of Deer, trees, and animals of Devon, painted on outside wall. Mortehoe, Woolacombe, North Devon, by British artist Conor Wilson.

Mural Painting

This wall mural was commissioned by a private client in summer 2011, after he had seen some of my other murals. The idea was to create a mural that celebrated the wildlife and scenery of North Devon. To compliment a comfortable, private patio area.

The client lives in Mortehoe, Woolacombe, and his garden area is alive with butterflies, insects and other animals. Adders fall in from the surrounding cliffs and have to be rescued. I worked these forms into a design that is simple and yet alive, that enhances the garden area but does not overwhelm. The closer you look the more you see, there are ants, butterflies, beetles, birds flying, even an adder in the grasses, deer coming out of the oak forest and the Tors of Dartmoor in the distance.
